I thought it might be a good idea to share some of the books that we’ve read with each other. So here is what to do. Think about the books (not counting the Bible) that have made an impact on your christian life. Share them by leaving a comment.

Here are a few books that I have read in the past 12 months.

    Velvet Elvis- Rob Bell
Sex God- Rob Bell (strange title but, good book)
    Blue Like Jazz- Donald Miller
    12 Ordinary Men- John McArthur
    Facing your Giant- Max Lucado
Talent is Never Enough- John Maxwell
Developing the Leader Within You- John Maxwell
17 Essential Qualities of a Team Player- John Maxwell
The Difference Maker – John Maxwell

Each of these books made an impact on my life in some way. I have been able to take the things I have learned or been reminded of in each of these books and relate them back to scripture.

Thanks Jeffrey for the idea of posting this here. Who else has read any good books recently?

So, I am embarrased to say that I don’t read much. The only two books I have read recently are “Chew on This” (it’s a book we are reading as a school at LHS) and “The Power of a Praying Wife.” Devin and I were at Books-A-Million last night and he bought ANOTHER book to read. Hopefully I can start reading something good sometime soon like him and the rest of you guys!

Anyone else? (I’m sure Jennifer and Jamie read books every day to Maria and Isabella!)

This whole reading thing is still pretty new to me but here are the few that I’ve read or are reading currently…

    1. Mere Christianity – C.S. Lewis
    2. Pilgrims Progress – John Bunyan (still reading)
    3. 12 Ordinary Men – John McArthur (thanks Mike)
    4. Moby Dick (oh wait, sorry, flashback to high school)

I just started a book on John Calvin and I am browsing a book on the sermons of Jonathan Edwards that are both really good.

    – great idea Jeffrey

Buster Brown was the pastor at my church in Charleston in college and was one of the most influential people spiritually and intellectually in my life. Here is a list of his favorite books. (I’m slowly trying to read all of them)
