What’s happening.

July 24, 2007

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all doing well.  This past Sunday we discussed chapters 10 and 11 in Love and Respect.  It was on openness (how we as women want our husbands to be open) and understanding (how we women don’t always want a fix, sometimes we just want someone to listen).  Next week we will be discussing chapters 12, 13, and 14.  I know it seems like a lot, but it is only 27 pages.

S verses this Sunday!  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that all God’s people may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. “  2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • We are still meeting on Tuesday nights at 7:00 at the Wired Bean.  We are currently reading chapter 10 in “The power of a praying wife.
  • Also, the Intimate Issues conference is coming up.  To see all the details, click here:
  • Last but not least, if anyone is interested in going to Super Supper, let Jamie know soon.  They get booked pretty fast.  To see what this is all about, here is the link to their website:

  • Promise Keepers is coming up August 3-4.  The church has purchased some tickets at a lower cost, but if they don’t have anymore, you can still get a ticket for $79.  It is being held in Columbia at the Colonial Center.  If you have any questions, contact Mike White or the church office.
  • Also, the churchwide golf tournament is coming up. (Ladies, you can play too!) Click here to see the flyer:
  • Last – Don’t forget to check out the tab for Mere Christianity, for those of you who are reading it!  (I’ve heard it’s pretty good.)

I have contacted the Crisis Ministry at our church.  They are in need of baby items (diapers, formula, and baby food), toiletry items (shampoo, soap, lotion, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss), and copy paper boxes.  If you have any of these or could spare a few extra dollars to get some, I know they would really be appreciated!  Madelyn and I are also working on some ministry that we can do together as a group.  If you have any ideas, let us know.  We will keep you updated on details.

Guess What!  Dan and Erin Wackerhagen found out yesterday that they are having a little BOY!  Daniel Aaron is due in December!  She will be home with us once in October and then November through January.  Pray for Dan as he is getting ready for his deployment.

“I thank my God everytime I remember you.”  Philippians 1:3

It would be great to do some ministry activities as a group! We could go to a soup kitchen or food pantry…they are usually always up for people helping out! 🙂
