April 15, 2007

OK everyone.  This is my first try at this blog thing.  But I like it so far!  It was so great to see you all today at church.  Happy birthday again to Michael!

Today we talked about having a powerful prayer life.  This is something I am definitely trying to work on and I pray that you will also work towards a more powerful prayer life.  For the next few weeks we are going to study Paul’s letter to the Corinthians.  We are so excited about this study.  Once we finish this, we are going to get back into the second section of “Love and Respect.”  It’s called the energizing cycle.  The author uses two acronyms to help us learn how to show love to our wives and respect to our husbands.  I can’t wait to see what God has in store!

Here are the prayer requests from today:

  • Jamie’s grandmother has dementia and congestive heart failure.  Please pray for her grandmother that she isn’t experiencing much pain and for her family during this time.
  • Madelyn’s grandfather from Oklahoma is also sick.  He has some intestinal problems but is too weak to have surgery.
  •  Carolyn’s family friend’s husband passed away suddenly.  Please keep this family in your prayers.
  • Cameron and Lauren are coming back this week from the Bahamas.  Please pray for their safe travel.
  • Also, pray for Cortney tomorrow as she comes back from Chicago.
  • Continue to pray for Rachel, Matt and Greyson.
  • Last but not least, remember to pray for The Taylors, Hudsons, and Broadwells as they are getting ready to move.

One more thing! Men:  there is a pig pickin’ on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 5:00p.m. at LBC.  Todd Bevill will be speaking on “Taking our wives for granted.”  You have to purchase your ticket for $5 by April 24.  Sounds fun!  And, if you go, your name gets put in a drawing to win a ticket to the men’s golf retreat in June.  Fun Fun!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Love,  Kathy
